What is Baby Week UK?

Baby Week UK launched in Leeds in 2016 and is all about bringing sectors together to promote the best start! We’re very excited to announce that Baby Week is now a national event with the following locations celebrating it!

• Leeds
• Bradford
• Cheshire & Merseyside
• Calderdale
• Coventry
• Newcastle
• Nottinghamshire
• Redcar & Cleveland
• Torbay

The initiative promotes the best start in life for children and the importance of the first 1001 days. Baby Week UK promotes the opportunities, services and support available for expectant and current parents and carers. This could be anything from finding a new parent group, going to the library, enjoying play and sensory experiences, or accessing health and wellbeing support for parents, carers and babies and we encourage everyone to keep it free or low cost!

It’s also an opportunity for professionals and services across the private, public and voluntary sectors to connect, listen to parents and carers, and enhance the way they work in maternity, health and early years.

Baby Week UK is now a registered charity, was featured by The Royal Foundations, Centre for Early Childhood and hopes to celebrate nationally in 2026!

When is Baby Week UK?

Baby Week UK runs annually from the 14th November – 20th November ending by marking World Children’s Day! Throughout the week, there are both in person and virtual events for professionals, expectant parents, parents and carers and of course under 5s!

How to get involved in Baby Week UK 2026

Baby Week UK was inspired by Semana Do Bebe (Baby Week Brazil) and came to Leeds in 2016. Since then Baby Week UK takes place in Bradford, Cheshire and Merseyside and hopefully many more cities and towns this year. Simply complete the form on this page and let’s get your home involved!
